31 Days, 31 Stories Breastfeeding Awareness Project
What is it?
Born as an extension of The Bond Project - The 31 Days, 31 Stories Project is designed to celebrate all of our milky mamas throughout the month of August (Breastfeeding Awareness Month). The goal of the project is to share a different story of breast milk for every day of the month.
The project welcomes all mamas who are pregnant and plan to breastfeed or pump, breastfeeding currently, pump, donate, wet-nurse, use donor milk or any combination even if that combination includes formula or table foods (for older babies).
Want to share your story?
Your milky mama story matters!
I firmly believe that every single story matter and that does include mamas who for any reason at all do not give their children breastmilk. The Bond Project happily shares the “Fed is Best” theory and all the stories! This leg of the project shares only milky mama stories for breastfeeding awareness month.
Many moms throughout the 4 years have told me that their story is uninteresting because they have had no troubles at all. I am here to tell you that I want to tell your story anyway. Your story matters. And if you have managed to hit every roadblock in the world and still somehow give your baby even one ounce of breastmilk a week, your story matters too.
This project wants to share all the stories because every experience is a valid experience and I guarantee you that some other mama will read your story and feel slightly more at peace knowing someone else shares part of their story.
Let me tell your story.
How does it work?
To share your story now or any time throughout the year (I would love to share at least one story every month – milky and non), the process is simple.
It begins with a consultation to get to know a little about you and the kind of story you will be telling. Then we book a Motherhood Experience Photo Session. These sessions are designed to get you, the mother in the photos WITH your kiddos. We laugh and play and genuinely just have a good time. And if you are nursing or bottle feeding or want to pump for a small or large portion of your session that is encouraged.
Then I give you a short interview about your journey and write up a blog post to share with our motherhood community. You are welcome to okay all the images we share with your story as well. Nothing will be shared with the blog without your approval.
Share your story:
We are still a few moms short of being able to share a story every day this month. So, if you personally or if you know anyone that may be interested in participating in the project, please contact me. Even if you are not ready right now but want to follow along, I would love to have you in my Mama Village Facebook group. This is a safe space group to talk about all thing’s motherhood. To be honest and find a community with one another.
