My 365 Documentary Photography Project - The Beginning
2018 is full of big goals in my life; wanting to be healthier, have more fun and be more present. But one big goal I have for myself and my business is completing my first ever, true 365 photography project.
For those of you who have never heard of a 365 photography project, it is exactly what it sounds like. I will take one photo every single day for an entire year. Some people (you don’t have to be a professional photographer, or even own a DSLR) choose to follow a group or make up their own where they follow a prompt every day of the year. Anything from colors to blocks or solar flare.
But for me, this year, most of my best goals are centered around my family, so what else would I be taking photos of for this project? So, family documentary photography style here I come.
I would love for you to follow along my journey through the year, maybe you will learn a little more about me as well. I will be posting all 365 images in this link. Please don’t be fooled, while I am taking a photo every single day, I am not uploading them everyday so check back once a week for all the new goodies.
I am choosing to complete this 365 project as a family documentary photographer because while I am very good at helping other mamas feel like good, beautiful mothers I tend to forget that I am also a good, beautiful mother.
It is important to be that I document for myself, my messy life as it is right now. Because no one ever knows when something will change – for better or worse. Because my children are changing before my very eyes. Because the details of this mess could easily be swept away with eh we’re still unpacking. These moments matter. Maybe not to anyone else, but they matter to me, and this year, I will never forget.
Read about big moments in my life and in this project on the blog throughout the year. The first chapter starts here. See you soon!
