Starting January 1, 2019 and ending September 29, 2021. These are my goals. Some are small some are big some are activities and some are life changes. I am so excited to begin this journey!

My own little boy was born one year ago today. As I look back at his birth, I remember so many details and all the joy and pain of the whole experience. I am beyond glad I hired Monet to document the first moments of our family becoming four. A super long post of my journey into mothering this sweet boy.

I decided the best time to start my 365 documentary photo project was now so here is what happened in December 2017

This year, I am challenging myself to take an honest photo of my own family every day - for an entire year. I cannot wait to see how much we all have grown and changed by the end of 2018.

Every year we set resolutions of what we want our upcoming year to be but so often we drop off the wagon and never get back on. This year, I am setting goals instead. My plans may not work, I may miss days but this way I can set new plans and continue on. Who is with me?

It may come as no surprise to many of you the real reason why I was absent for – gulp – almost two whole months…. morning sickness. Yep that is right, we are expecting our next little bundle of joy in October! Hopefully we will make it there!

I spy champions. I don’t care who you wanted to win the game, no one can say this didn’t turn out to be one heck of a super bowl. Congratulation Patriots, please don’t let it come out you cheated. 

1.23.2017 - Natural: Breastfeeding is natural. It is one of the most natural things you can do as a human. I will forever advocate for any mom who wants to breastfeed....

For many years, my mom enjoyed her wine. This little shadow box holds some of the corks (wine bottle toppers) that she enjoyed. I love the texture in them...

Shadow - Sure we all make shadows and are attached to one at all times, but I chose to practice some harsh, side lighting for this one. Photographing mostly newborns I don’t get to have the fun of this lighting often but this was the perfect time. This is my brother, graciously modeling for me. We all have two sides, which do you show?
