It may come as no surprise to many of you the real reason why I was absent for – gulp – almost two whole months…. morning sickness. Yep that is right, we are expecting our next little bundle of joy in October! Hopefully we will make it there!

I have not kept it a secret that we have had a sketchy past with being able to keep a baby growing in my belly (stay tuned for a few blogs on pregnancy after a loss). But we are fairly confident that this one is going to stick.

Silhouette photo, love pregnancy, announcement

We are so crazy excited to welcome another little baby into our family, we can’t even contain it! Little miss Sarah May has decided she really wants a little sister but I am fairly confident that I am having a boy! Hopefully she will love this baby either way! She has even started talking to and kissing my belly “cuz theres a baby in dere” haha.

Let’s see, some details:

-          I am not 16 weeks! Woohoo, I know it is no real milestone to most but I am very happy to be firmly in my second trimester where I can feel better and get back to feeling like a human again. Morning sickness really kicked my butt this time around, along with the deep, unwavering exhaustion and even sprinkled with some breathing problems.

-          Luckily though, I have been able to mostly stay away from extra visits and everything seems to be going well this time around (says my high risk doctor).

Big sister, happy pregnancy, henna hug

-          We will be finding out what this baby’s sex is, but I will be waiting until 20 weeks to tell the world and start to come up with names. We have quite the list of girl names but by names seem harder for some reason. If you have any good ones, I’d love to see them in the comments. I am thinking I would want to name a boy after my great grandfather because he was such an amazing man, but not sure how to fit it in a well-rounded name.

-          We are starting to consider themes for a nursery but will not get too far ahead of ourselves into planning until we hit at least 24 weeks and decide if we are really moving or not. Don’t worry it wouldn’t be far.

-          We are currently weaning my daughter but I think it is time. She doesn’t ask for it quite as much and I really want that special time with just the new little one. Plus it will let us utilize her own room a lot more than we are (more blogs to come on the bittersweet end of weaning).

lay down nursing, extended breastfeeding, the bond project

It’s no secret (as you scroll this blog) that we just had to celebrate our little victories with a photoshoot. I was not going to miss my chance with this one. So I hurried up and scheduled a fun blessing henna session with the talented SarahKate Butterworth.

I will definitely cherish these early images bonding with this baby and my beautiful daughter. This time we chose to include 5 birds to symbolize all of my pregnancies. We already have two more scheduled and are ready to make them happen (although I am not hurrying this pregnancy along in the slightest. But be sure to follow along to see what the next design will include.

As always, your comments are welcome! If you have any strong boy names I would love to hear them!
